Here is what Wedding Chicks had to say:
The picturesque Canadian Rockies were the dreamy backdrop for Amanda and Troy’s weekend long wedding celebration at Silvertip Resort in Alberta, Canada. Their adventure-filled story book weekend was both intimate and glamorous with pops of blush, gold and navy.
We’re obsessed with Amanda’s stunning Berta wedding dress with a mile-long detachable skirt. Seriously, who doesn’t love two wedding looks in one?! See it all unfold below, and find more pin-worthy moments!
From Adria: I have been photographing my sister from the very beginning of my business to model shoots for me, and from day 1 when she decided to start a fashion blog (which has become insanely successful-sister bragging moment), but having the honor of photographing her wedding was the honor of a lifetime. She is truly my best and closest friend in life, and she knew she could have looked somewhere else to have me more involved in the wedding itself, but she chose to allow me to do it all. I had the privilege of being a Matron of Honor along with my other sister, and also the photographer.
I took this job just as seriously as any of my other brides-but this one was different. I was involved in every detail of the planning and of course, her most precious memories- the photographs. When she decided on Canada as her backdrop, I was a little nervous. My husband and I traveled out there early before the wedding and spent days driving around to find the perfect spots just for them. It was a huge challenge, but also so much fun to explore such a beautiful place. I could have asked where other photographers liked to go, but I wanted their photos to come from a fresh eye to the landscape. I truly felt like we found the most magical locations for their first look and formal photos. They trusted me-which meant trusting a 45 minute drive out into the mountains on their big day.
When the wedding day came around, I was crazy nervous. I think I was so worried about the wedding day being so perfect for my little sister, that my nerves started to crash it (maybe a little). But once I got them front of the camera, all of my jitters melted away. Tears poured behind my camera as they saw each other for the first time-but I didn’t want to interrupt so I hid them. When it was time for me to be in photos, my husband who used to work with me took them, or when we both had to be in a couple, Brandon, the videographer stepped up for us.
It was truly a magical experience and I am so thankful to Amanda and Troy for trusting me and all of my craziness on the most important day of your lives. I love you both very much!
From the bride: Our wedding weekend was like something out of a storybook. We had 50 of our closes friends with us in Banff, Canada. On Friday we had a welcome party for all of our guests, on Saturday we shuttled everyone out to a gorgeous glacier lake where we canoed and hiked, on Sunday we had our rehearsal dinner out at a charming ranch, and our wedding was actually on Monday. -Amanda
Our ceremony was outside against the backdrop of the Rocky Mountains. The ceremony had just started when it started raining so hard that the rain was actually going sideways. We all had to huddle inside of the gazebo for half an hour. It was such an intimate moment between all of us and I wouldn’t have traded it for the world. Once the rain stopped, the sky was even more beautiful and we started the ceremony over again from the beginning. It was perfect.
Words from Adria Lea: Amanda, the bride is the owner of the fashion blog, The Miller Affect, and has grown it to be a huge platform! She also happens to be my baby sister and I am beyond proud of her for how accomplished she is! For the wedding she chose geometric shapes for the centerpieces, bouquets, cake, and other decor to represent the Canadian Rockies where they were married.

Photography by Adria Lea. Yes, she is my sister so I am partial, but I also believe she is the BEST out there! I use her for all of my blog photography as well! Take a look at her amazing wedding photography HERE!
Troy and I hosted our wedding reception at Silvertip Resort in their Pavillion room. This room hosts up to 240 people. We picked it because of their gorgeous wooden beams and amazing views of the mountains.
Cake by Kake. How gorgeous is this geometric cake? We just told them our vision and they brought it to life. Seriously THE BEST CAKE I have ever had!!! I didn’t even get a second piece because everyone had 2-3 pieces! It was heaven!!!!
They also supplied these amazing cupcakes! So many different flavor combos to choose from. We did Lemon Lavender and Coffee Chocolate. Both were so great! Nothing was left on the table at the end of the night. DEFINITELY book with cake for your Canada wedding!!!
Look through their beautiful photos HERE to see all of their designs.
Signage by Studio Noel. Studio Noel is a local business based out of Austin, TX but they can ship to ANYWHERE! They also provided all of my amazing signage for my bachelorette party in Palm Springs.
We were so happy with our Mr and Mrs signs and the Happily Ever After that we put on the cake table. We wanted to hang it, but the venue wouldn’t let us :/! It was so cute on the table too though!
Book Studio Noel for your signage! She can help you come up with some great ideas for your event (wedding, birthday party, etc.) at a really great price!
Florals by: Wedding Rose Events. We flew her out from Dallas. She is amazing at destination weddings!! Whether you are in the DFW area or from somewhere far away, I highly recommend her for your wedding! You will not be disappointed!
I used Signature Weddings by Ashley as my wedding planner. We worked together over many phone calls since I never viewed the venue before the wedding. She did such an amazing job. She made the recommendation for the venue and it is the best venue I could have found! She also recommended the makeup artist and so much more!
She kept everything running smoothly during our wedding weekend and I didn’t have to hear about anything or make any decisions! If you plan on having a Canada wedding, you should definitely use Ashley!
DRESS: My dress is a Berta gown that I got from Bridal Boutique of Lewisville. I got it while Berta was having a pop-up at BB Lewisville. I definitely cried when I first put the dress on. That is how I knew it was the one.
Troy’s Tux: The Black Tux
My Shoes: Jimmy Choo
Hairpiece: Mockingbird Bridal (where my mother and two sisters all got their wedding dresses!)
