Shelby and Will

“The wedding day was, as expected, a complete whirlwind! We spend most of the day getting ready, doing the rehearsal, and then my wonderful family stayed behind from noon to 2 setting up. I ran late getting to the venue (no surprise) then couldn’t get to it because a train stopped in the middle of the tracks and we couldn’t cross! I legitimately considered crawling over the train at one point; Luckily I had my maid of honor with me and she talked me down. Once I walked into the venue things seemed to move at warp speed. We put on jewelry, touched up make up, put the dress on, and then it was time for our first look! Special shout out to my photographer for buttoning up my dress/bustling it. We were all wedding amateurs. We had the first look right before the ceremony and it was one of my favorite parts of the day – You find you don’t get to spend much time with the person you are marrying on your wedding day and those ten minutes were so welcome and a wonderful memory for us.Amazingly, thanks to our planner the wedding started right on time! We spent the rest of the night dancing with our friends and family, cutting the cake (which I made a point to remember to eat!), and leaving with a sparkler exit at the end of the night. Throwing a wedding can feel like running a marathon and I could not have done it without everyone’s help. All of our vendors, family members, and amazing friends contributed so much to making sure June 18th was the best day of our lives and we are so eternally grateful.”
