Madeline and Jon Cobb Wedding at Rustic Grace Estate

If you didn’t see their engagement session HERE, it was featured with The Knot’s How He Asked, and probably my favorite session of all time!

Madeline and Jon are clearly a match made in heaven. Jon was stationed in Japan in the Air Force and a mutual friend started telling him about Madeline. Shortly after, she became single and their friend started telling her about Jon, but she didn’t think she wanted to date a military man. Let’s just say their friend was persistent, and she finally agreed to meet him at a get-together out at a Ranch. Flirting isn’t Jon’s forte, so Madeline left there not really knowing if he liked her or not. That all cleared up when he called and asked her to dinner. Saying that Jon knew right away that Madeline was “the one” would be an understatement! Within a month he was hinting at marriage, and started planning the proposal!

The day of the proposal they packed food for a picnic, while their family was organizing a surprise engagement party. Then they headed out to picnic at a friend’s property that had a floating dock. Right as the rain started to trickle onto the tin roof, he handed her a letter that he had written for her, and said he would just kneel behind her so that he could read it too. Little did she know that he was fumbling behind her to get the ring box out of his boot! She turned around in shock to him on one knee asking her to marry him. After many hugs and “no ways”, he turned on the first song they had danced to and they danced on the dock (yes, it’s like a fairy tale)! Then off they went to the engagement party! Needless to say, it was love at first sight for Madeline and Jon!

Moving on to the wedding day! Isn’t Rustic Grace Estate BEAUTIFUL?! Their Chapel is just gorgeous, and all the strings lighting and chandeliers make it so romantic and relaxing! Definitely check it out if you’re looking for a Dallas wedding venue that has a fun easy-going environment!

“Jon and I are both very traditional, and at our first meeting told Adria there was no way we were doing a first look. Of course, we changed our minds and it ended up being our favorite part!! We had those moments alone together. Moments to pray, talk, laugh, relax, and be silly. Our friends warned us that our wedding would fly by and that we wouldn’t be able to remember it, but because of our first look I can remember that special day in vivid detail.” – Madeline

“For our recessional song we chose Come And Get Your Love by Redbone. I had family step in last minute (and save the day) to play the music for our ceremony. Well, we kiss, and turn around to be pronounced husband and wife and she started playing the song early. Our pastor tried to signal her to turn it down, but she turned it up. Everybody laughed and I couldn’t have thought of a better way to start off our marriage than having fun and laughing. It may have been an accident, but I wouldn’t change it if I could.” – Madeline
